| description | Over the past decade, the SFMTA has installed Class IV bikeways with flex posts & paint buffers as part of the quick-build program. While many of these projects have improved overall safety for people who bike, scoot, and roll, it is prudent for staff to revisit these locations to observe how they are working and identify locations that would be good candidates for doweled in concrete islands. This programmatic effort is in support of the City goal of creating a citywide bike network that is safe and comfortable for all ages and abilities. This work will also provide an established process for staff to upgrade bikeways in a systems manner into the future. |
